D-Rev (now Equalize Health) was (😢) a non-profit design and development firm in San Francisco focused on building medical devices for resource-limited settings, using an innovative business model where device R&D is funded by philanthropy, and manufacturing + scaling is funded by product sales without any ongoing philanthropic investment neede.
Specifically, our team designed three award-winning products that have been sold to over 60 countries and treated more than 950,000 newborns [as of Fall 2021] - Brilliance Pro, Brilliance Classic, and the Brilliance Pro Light Meter. I managed the design process end-to-end, from early user research to design for manufacturing, regulatory approval, and scaling.
I was involved in the design and development of the ReMotion knee as well, but to a lesser extent.
